Things To Do

We chose to get married in the SLO area because we both fell in love with it during college. We have so many wonderful memories here and hope that you can enjoy some of our favorite things while you are in town for the wedding! Below are some of our favorite things to do and places to eat at, we hope you have as much fun as we do exploring the area!

Places to Eat

  • Firestone Gril (San Luis Obispo):
    • 1001 Higuera St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401
    • This is a very popular spot among the college students and locals that is known for its tri-tip sandwiches and other BBQ dishes
    • Kim and Brandon's recommendation: You MUST get the Trip Tip Sandwich (picture above) with a basket of their seasoned fries! Make sure you ask for extra BBQ sauce when you pick up your order at the counter. Note: the sandwich is big enough for 2 people to share.
  • Woodstock's Pizza (San Luis Obispo):
    • 1000 Higuera St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401
    • This is your typical college pizza place that offers delicous pizza and lots of beer options. They also offer slices and you can get one of the Slice of the Day at a discounted price.

    • A local cafe and artisinal bakery known for their award winning clam chowder.
    • Kim and Brandon's recommendation: If you are a fan of clam chowder you must get their clam chowder in a bread bowl! They toast the center section of the bread making it extra crispy and delicous. For all the nonseafood lovers out there (like Kim) they have good chicken strips and chicken sandwiches.
  • Chipwrecked (Pismo Beach)
    • 246 Pomeroy Ave, Pismo Beach, CA 93449
    • This is a very tiny restaurant located a block from Pismo Beach. They are known for their unique homemade potato chip creations that come with toppings and dips. They also have good sandwiches and salads.
    • Kim and Brandon's recommendation: All of the chips (chipwrecks) are delicous and unique, but our favorites are The USS Intrepid (applewood bacon and dark chocolate on a sea salt chip) and The Francisco De Orellana (cinnamon, sugar and a drizzle of maply syrup).
  • Rooster Creek Tavern (Arroyo Grande)

    • This is a casual american fare restaurant located in downtown Arroyo Grande. They have everything from sandwiches and salads to pizza and nachos. They are located right by Rooster Creek Park where wild rooster roam the park and parking lot.
    • Kim and Brandon's recommendations: The nachos are delicous and great for sharing! We love to walk by the wild roosters which roam the parking lot in the back.
  • Nite Creamery SLO (San Luis Obispo)
    • 570 Higuera St #103, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401
    • Small batch ice cream shop that makes the ice cream when you order it with liquid nitrogen.
    • Kim and Branond's Recommendation: If you are a nutella lover you must get the "PB Nutella" and for all those Smore's lovers out there, the "Roasted and Toasted" is delicous. Get it in a Bubble Waffle Cone to make it even more amazing!
